After 17 years underground, billions of Brood X cicadas will start emerging from the ground this week with creepy sounds like nonstop lawnmowers. The red-eyed bugs, which will emerge in 15 states, are nothing like murder hornets. Cicadas are loud and invasive -- but not harmful to humans or animals -- so enjoy the zany distraction.

President Joe Biden will host the top four congressional leaders on Wednesday. The meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy comes as Biden's $4 trillion legislative proposals enter a crucial stage.

With the sighting of the moon expected soon, the holy month of Ramadan is almost over. A three-day celebration, called Eid al-Fitr, will begin when a new moon emerges, likely Wednesday or Thursday. Eid al-Fitr brings families and friends together for prayers, food and fun.

A Georgia Superior Court judge will preside over pretrial motions Wednesday and Thursday in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. Three defendants have been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and attempt to commit false imprisonment in last year's shooting death of Arbery.
