Tallahassee, FL —As teachers nationwide cope with upheaval and sudden quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, parents and students alike are appreciating the enormous contribution that teachers make in educating the nation’s children. Today, during Teacher Appreciation Week, the Florida Democratic Party celebrates the role of teachers in shaping the leaders of tomorrow by educating kids on history, values, essential skills, and the information gathering tools they need to take part in our country’s democracy.

Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement :

“I'd like to thank Florida's terrific teachers, today and every day. We are fortunate to have teachers who are demonstrating the importance of teaching our children, whether in person or online. They have met the challenge of educating kids through online formats that have been in some cases a difficult transition from traditional classroom learning. We salute them today for their ingenuity and genuine commitment and we are grateful for their service and professional dedication.”
