FDP Statement on Rick Scott and Carlos Curbelo's Absence with Their Friend Trump in South Florida Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Juan Penalosa released the following statement about Rick Scott and Carlos Curbelo’s notable absence while Trump is in Florida: “Rick Scott and Carlos Curbelo can run from their friend Donald Trump when he’s in Florida, but they can’t hide from the fact that their support of Trump and his damaging policies on taxes and health care will hurt the people of Florida while helping people like Rick Scott, his friends and donors. The Trump-Scott-Curbelo agenda is increasing health care costs for Floridians, jeopardizing Floridians from getting the coverage they need and making life more expensive for middle class families. Scott and Curbelo can hide today, but Floridians will hold these two accountable for running from the truth and putting themselves ahead of Floridians." A reminder on Scott and Curbelo with their friend Trump in South Florida:
Curbelo votes with Trump 80 percent of the time even though Trump lost the district by 16 points.
"Carlos Curbelo Likely Made Tens of Thousands From His Own Tax-Cut Vote"
Scott helped craft Trump’s health care plan that would have increased health care costs while stripping coverage of pre-exiting conditions and imposing an age tax on older Americans.
Rick Scott would have received a $500,000 tax break from the health legislation he helped craft.
Scott also backed Trump’s tax plan that will give him and his family a multi-million dollar break while increasing costs for Floridians.
