Florida Democrats and Medical Professionals to Host Video Press Call to Demand DeSantis Stop Following Trump’s Erratic Lead on Coronavirus

Trump, DeSantis Continue To Make the Crisis Worse For Floridians

FLORIDA - On Monday, April 27th, at 10:30 a.m., U.S. Reps. Darren Soto and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, State Rep. Fentrice Driskell, Dr. Bernard Ashby, Dr. Kayser Enneking, and Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo will join a virtual news conference to urge Governor DeSantis to stop following President Trump’s erratic and chaotic approach to this pandemic and immediately ramp up testing, provide more Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontline workers, and listen to public health experts.

While Trump and DeSantis continue to downplay the threat of coronavirus, public health experts say that the United States is still sorely lacking widespread testing, PPE, and a comprehensive plan to control this virus. The duo continue to sideline health care experts in their erratic response: DeSantis failed to include a single doctor in his task force to reopen the economy and Trump has regularly spread dangerous misinformation about Covid-19.

WHAT: Virtual news conference to discuss Trump and DeSantis’ erratic coronavirus response and the need for them to ramp up testing, provide more PPE to front-line workers, and listen to medical and public health experts.
